2 Down, only a measly 50 miles to go!

I finished the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon today in 3:08:19 (7:11 minutes per mile). Check back soon for a full report!

Here We Go (Part 2)!

Well, tomorrow I'll be at the Milwaukee Marathon! Right now, I'm hoping to run a "BQ"--which equals a 3:10. That plan may change based on the weather (predicted rain) or the feeling my legs are feeling (fatigued from the 50-mile training).

No matter what, It'll be fun, and I'll be sure to update tomorrow afternoon!

Go Brewers!

You see, I already know you're thinking to yourself, "Why?!"

WHY?!

Why would anyone run a marathon...let alone a 50 mile race? For me, the answer is pretty simple.

Because someone inspired me to do it.

My best friend is Brock Hansen. We met in high school and have remained great friends ever since.

Throughout high school our friendship continued. We had the same friends. We worked at the same summer job. We got in the same kinds of trouble. We fought with each other, inflicted bodily harm on each other, and then laughed with each other afterwards. And we still do today.

On December 30th of 1997 (which also happened to be my 17th birthday), Brock was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis ("NF" for short) and his life was changed forever.
